Generation G is the approach of todays youth, an approach of generosity in spirit, contribution, meaning and care for the life of their culture and this planet.  As elders, we are the believing eyes for this generation, the gateway to their success as they face issues we did our best with, as they address these issues with a brand new mind.  Lets listen, lets contribute, lets collaborate....this is OUR future together.

Generation G is about generosity and about empowering a generation that is not entitled but empowered to speak their love, concern and contribution for this world, as we have supported and taught them to.  Finding voice / giving voice is about garnering empowerment to accomplish and achieve what needs to be achieved.  I think you will find WHATAREKIDSSAYING.COM to be an important stepping stone in that voice of the future we so want to see.

Happy New year!

A new year!  I made it into another year and for that I am thankful :-)  Grateful for all that I was able to accomplish in 2010, and thankful for the opportunity to do greater things in 2011!  Life threw a few curve balls at me last year, which left me at times feel like I was spending more time on the bench, than I was in the game... But I have learned that although life does throw some pretty wicked curve, slider and knuckle balls, it also throws some strikes, and when it does...you have to learn how to knock them out of the park!

Although it is been years since I have played a game of baseball, I remember the feeling of jogging around the bases after a homerun...nothing quite like it.  Although I wish you all many homeruns in life, always remember that simply getting on base is what matters the most!

It Pays 2 Give...

So, a few years ago I was sitting around, thinking of ways that I could multiply the money that I had earned during my years playing in the NFL.  I began to come up with all of these, not so brilliant, ideas...and after I realized that I was thinking selfishly, I asked mysef this simple questioned, "How can I give and help those in need?"  At that moment, I said a prayer and I asked God to give me a way to help people in need, and He did!

The idea:

Imagine if google said, "we are going to give away $1million dollars on Thanksgiving Day to the first person who clicks on the turkey image on our website...ya, your right...the amount of traffic would probably crash their website!

So, this Friday I am launching IP2G.com (It Pays 2 Give).  IP2G will be the first website that allows companies to give away cash and products to their loyal and faithful customers!  I will not be giving away $1 million (maybe one day :-))...but what we are so fortunate and blessed to be able to give, no matter how big or small, means the world to someone who is less unfortunate...proving that it truly does pay to give!..

Getting old(er)...

I was reading an article today on the web, and it stated that an individual was 33 years old...at that moment I thought to myself "33 is old!"...and then it dawned on me that I am 32 lol!  I am laughing as I type this because I think I am getting old :-)

For the record, I may be getting old(er), but I can still beat all of you youngins out there laughing at me in a race ;-) ..

Life...Autumn...and raking leaves...

The difference a few months makes...  Life has no problem moving along with or wihout you.  I have been extremely busy working on a new website, that will launch in the coming weeks.  It is amazing how when I think we are finished, and can have a moments rest...it actually turns out to be "a moment", and is seemingly to short lol!  But, it keeps me going...gotta love it!

The seasons are changing, and my favorite season is upon us!  I love the fall/autumn/harvest time...whatever you wish to call it!  There is nothing like getting on my atv and riding around the neighborhood looking at the beautiful colors...God truly is the greatest artist!  The other day I went down to a creek near my home, and just sat and listened to the wind blow through the trees.  It is important that we learn to appreciate the small pleasures in life...

One thing that I do not quite understand though is raking leaves..?  Their just going to keep falling :-)  Ah, I guess it is a good form of exercise...aaand looking ahead, I can definitely see myself telling my daughter to "go outside and rake the leaves", as it is sure to help build strong character!

Well, I can feel my life running away from me, so I better go catch up :-)

My Return From South Africa...

My trip to SA was divine!

I am thankful for my newly adopted daughter... the new friends that I have been blessed with, and the memories of all of the lives, both young and old, that I had the opportunity to touch, and be touched by in an unforgettable way.

Every time I get the opportunity to travel my perspective on life is in some way broadened and increased tremendously through interacting with the people that I meet, observing the beauty of the places that I visit, and most importantly by what God reveals...

There is a great deal of work to do.....

Purchased for the same price...

Each morning that I wake up in South Africa, I realize that I am looking at the same stars that I have looked at since I first opened my eyes... In spite of how big, or how small, bright or dim, a star is, well...a star.

Similarly, each person who lives in the ghettos of SA is of no less value than any other person in this world...

For we were all purchased for the same price...

Touched...

South Africa...the people, the land, and the presence of God are far beyond my expectations, as well as any words that I could ever express...

We live in the age of technology, thus are able to get in touch with whomever we wish with the simple click of a button...

Although technology affords us this opportunity to get in touch with many, I challenge each of us to ask ourselves this one question, how many lives have we truly "touched"?  ..

Serving others...

No! I am not obligated to serve others!  Meaning that I am not a servant that is bound by chains, or held behind bars.  Instead, with every setting and rising of the sun, I am becoming more and more consumed with OUTLANDISH hopes of caring for loved ones, having the perfect words of encouragement for those in need, and loving my enemies.

Sure, it has taken me some time to gain better understanding, but over the course of some time I have learned that we were all created to serve one another...and the sooner we all realize that, the less time we will waste attempting to fulfill our own selfish desires, and the more time we can utilize learning how to serve others...

...Purpose greater than your own...

I have waited for years for this moment...soon I will be on my way to South Africa!

Four years ago I remember watching the World Cup, and I said to myself, "wherever the World Cup is hosted next, I am going to be there!"  So, when I found out that the next Cup would be hosted by South Africa, I thought to myself "How sweet! I can watch the world''''s greatest soccer players...aaaand go on safari to roar with the lions!"

So, as the World Cup approaches fast, my excitement grows...in spite of their being a slight change to my initial plan...

I am going to South Africa soon, however, by the time I arrive the World Cup will have just ended. Although I will not have the opportunity to attend any soccer matches at all, I am still exploding with excitement!  You see a couple of years ago I made up my mind that I would go wherever God told me to go, and do whatever He told me to do...so, the reason for my excitement and enthusiasm is because I am going to S.A. to fulfill a purpose far greater than attending the World Cup...to help benefit the lives of South African youth!

I have been invited to S.A. to speak to youth who live in the ghettos of South Africa, about AIDS awareness. In addition, to speaking to young people about AIDS, there is much more seed that I am looking forward to sowing, and also an abundant harvest that I am expecting to reap before my journey''''s end...

In closing, when you make a choice to pursue a purpose greater than your own, you are able to be useful in more ways than you could ever imagine, while still being able to travel the world, see God''''s glory...and maybe even roar with the lions!

Oooooooooggggghhhhhh...

May all of your dreams be full of purpose greater than your own.....

Greetings to a new day...

Every night, as I fall asleep in my tree home, like the big kid that I am, I am bursting with excitement and anticipation for what God has in store for another day!  So, I fall fast asleep with hopes of waking up bright and early to give greetings to a new day.....
